Dermaplaning is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that is used to remove the top layer of dead skin cells, as well as fine peach fuzz, also known as vellus hair, from the face. At The Skin Chic, we use a sterile medical-grade surgical blade to gently scrape away dead skin cells and hair for a smoother complexion.

It works by exposing skin to temperatures as low as -140 degrees Fahrenheit in order to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. At The Skin Chic, we use multiple products and techniques as part of our cryotherapy offerings, incorporating them as necessary to help you achieve your desired skin result!

The Cryotherapy Process

At The Skin Chic, we have specific products that introduce cold temperatures at a molecular level to the skin. 

Cryo Pro-X, a cryotherapy exfoliant from DMK, speeds up cell turnover by introducing cold temperatures to the skin via polylactic and glycolic acids. This beaded exfoliant rapidly cools the skin, encouraging safe cell turnover and reduction in inflammatory conditions deep within the skin’s epidermal and dermal layers. Coupled with a cryo occlusion, this next level exfoliation gives you the benefits of cryotherapy minus the cold chamber! 

Cold Mask from Biologique Recherche is an immersive cryotherapy experience designed to offer both relaxation and cryotherapy in the same setting. What is Microcurrent and How Does it Work?

Microcurrent uses electrical current to stimulate the muscles of the face, neck and decolletage to lift and strengthen the skin. A conductive medium best suited to the skin’s condition is applied prior to the application of electrical probes to the face, neck and chest to optimize results and safely lift, tone and brighten the skin.

Microcurrent’s primary function in aesthetics is to lift and tone the skin and its muscular structure. Additionally, this technology safely oxygenates the tissue, stimulates nerve endings to strengthen cellular structures and processes, and provides energy to the skin’s individual cells.
